All you have to do is use this website to open your ports. Sometimes i play with my friends in Gmod, like 3 days ago my server is bugged and i had to use hamachi, so they connect from the classic navegator :P good luck. I think I'll skip all the trouble of setting one up though.
When you create a game within Gmod, the game is is LAN mode. It would work when I first got the game earlier this year, but sometime during the summer it stopped working. Are you creating a game within Gmod or you are using a dedicated server? Within Gmod.
